वह इंडियन फिल्म इंडस्ट्री के पहले सुपरस्टार बने। राजेश खन्ना को प्यार करने वालों में महिलाओं की लिस्ट काफी लंबी थी। ऐसा कहा जाता है कि लड़कियां उनके पीछे इतनी दीवानी थी कि वह खून से उन्हें लेटर लिखा करती थी। हालांकि, सफलता जब सिर पर चढ़ जाए तो वह आपके लिए मुश्किलें भी खड़ी कर सकती है।

कुछ ऐसा ही हुआ था राजेश खन्ना के साथ, जब उनके सामने तो लोग हंसकर बात करते थे, लेकिन जैसे ही वह पीठ करते उनके बारे में गलत बातें होना स्टार्ट हो जाती। बॉलीवुड के विलेन प्रेम चोपड़ा ने हाल ही में बताया कि आखिर किस आदत की वजह से पीठ पीछे लोग राजेश खन्ना की बुराई करते थे।

राजेश खन्ना की इस आदत से परेशान थे लोग

प्रेम चोपड़ा और राजेश खन्ना ने भी कई फिल्में साथ में की। उस समय पर हीरो और विलेन की ये जोड़ी काफी हिट रही। हाल ही में प्रेम चोपड़ा जब अरबाज खान के शो ‘द इंविसिबल’ में खास मेहमान बनकर पहुंचे तो उन्होंने उनके और अमिताभ बच्चन के साथ कुछ पुरानी यादें ताजा की।

प्रेम चोपड़ा ने बताया राजेश खन्ना वैसे तो बहुत ही उम्दा एक्टर थे, लेकिन उनकी एक आदत लोगों को बिल्कुल पसंद नहीं आती थी। काका की उस बुरी आदत के बारे में बात करते हुए प्रेम चोपड़ा ने कहा,

“हमारी सुबह 9 बजे की शिफ्ट होती थी और वह 12 के बाद आते थे। सब चीजें तैयार होती थी। जब वो सेट पर नहीं होते थे तो लोग गुस्से में बोलते थे कि क्या है यार इतना इंतजार, सब कुछ रेडी है। जैसे ही वह आते थे तो सब मुस्कुरा कर कहते थे राजेश साहब आइए..आइए। वह काका को पूछते थे कि लंच के बाद काम करे, काका बोलते थे अब कर लो। तो उनके सामने अच्छे बनते थे लेकिन पीठ पीछे परेशान होकर उनकी बुराई करते थे।

हीरोइन से पहले राजेश खन्ना संग होती थी प्रेम चोपड़ा की कास्टिंग

इस बातचीत में प्रेम चोपड़ा ने ये भी बताया कि राजेश खन्ना की किसी भी फिल्म में हीरोइनों की कास्टिंग बाद में होती थी, उससे पहले लोग फिल्म में वह विलेन हैं या नहीं ये पूछते थे। प्रेम चोपड़ा ने कहा, “पी साबर ने मुझे बताया था कि डिस्ट्रीब्यूटर आए थे, तो उन्होंने उन्हें बताया कि वह फिल्म में राजेश खन्ना को ले रहे हैं।

डिस्ट्रीब्यूटर से उन्होंने जैसे ही हीरोइन को कास्ट करने की बात की, तो उन्होंने पूछा कि ये बताओ मूवी में प्रेम चोपड़ा है या नहीं है। ऐसा इसलिए क्योंकि राजेश खन्ना और मेरा एक पेयर बन गया था, तो वही सिलसिला चलता गया”।

इन फिल्मों में खूब जमी थी दोनों की जोड़ी

प्रेम चोपड़ा और राजेश खन्ना की फिल्मों की बात करें तो दोनों ने साल 1969 में रिलीज हुई फिल्म डोली से लेकर दो रास्ते, कटी पतंग, दाग: अ पोएम ऑफ लव, अजनबी, प्रेम नगर, महा चोर, महबूबा, त्याग, आंचल और जानवर जैसी फिल्मों में साथ काम किया।
